| PSYCHIATRY GUILDS |
| The Trichur
Psychiatrists guilds conducted CME programme in child Psychiatry on 7th
July 1991 at Trichur. The programme was attended by pediatric specialists
and Psychiatrists from Kerala. The topics were learning disabilities an
approach to a child, Targeted intervention in Mental Retardation, use of
antidepressants in child Psychiatry, and a panal discussion on Recurrent
abdominal pain in children. |
| Two more
Psychiatrists' Guilds have been formed at Ernakulam and at Trivandrum and
(the Vanchinad Guild) in addition to the already functioning ones at
Calicut and Trichur. |
| A two day
International workshop on Alcohol and Drug abuse was held at Trivandrum in
January 1991. The conference was organised by Dr. K.A.Kumar with support
from the ICMR and American Association of Physicians from India. |
